Tips Used By Weight Lifting Experts

Weight lifting is a sport that existed even during the time of the ancients. At the height of the Greek civilization, many sports were associated with this discipline. One wrestler named Mino of Croton carried a new born calf on his back every day until it fully matured.
The sport may also refer to powerlifting which is a strength based sport composed of three lifts. The dead lift Bench press and squats. The sport lacks a central governing. Powerlifters are among the strongest athletes on the planet.
Body building is also a sport associated with lifting heavy weights. Bodybuilding encompasses the modification of the body for aesthetic purposes. The sport features the lifting of weights to enhance your muscle mass. It also features the increase of muscle strength but this is not usually its primary aim. Weight training is basically the type of exercise that is performed with the use of weights. Muscle strength gain is one advantage of weight training.
Olympic weight training
Two basic lifts are involved in Olympic competitions. These are the snatch and clean category and the jerk. The primary aim of the competition is to lift the heaviest weight in comparison to your competitors. Some of the strongest individuals in the world are Olympic weight lifters.
Because power-lifting has decentralized organizing bodies, it has many champions depending on which part of the world they hail from. Weight lifters have one centralized body and its main event occurs at the Olympics every four years. This means that it is not mean feat to make it to the top. Hard work and training is involved.
Weightlifters in the Olympics and their coaches have more information on the intricacies involved in training effectively compared to all other professionals. Few individuals know how these athletes train to gain their super strong muscles. Their super strong muscles and attractive muscular physiques may surprise even your local gym experts.
Their strength is not inborn or a result of some superior genes they possess. Not even the state of the art supplements and steroids can explain their performance. A Weightlifter's strength easily exceeds that of top bodybuilders like Dorian Yates and even Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Their flexibility and power exceeds that of football players, wrestlers and even the world's strongest man contenders. There is one notable observation on the muscles of weightlifters. They are usually not freakishly huge like those displayed by some bodybuilders on magazine covers.
Still, they are stronger, more powerful, functional and flexible compared to those of bodybuilders. The methods these athletes employ to train and attain their super strength without huge bulky muscles still remains a mystery. Olympic style weight lifting contains a vast knowledge resource of weight training that can be applied to achieve superior results in health and fitness.
The correct information is required to attain proficiency in the weightlifting sport. If you aim at losing unhealthy weight and gaining muscle, then weightlifting is the right sport for you. Whether you are skinny or overweight, it is suitable for you. For those aiming to lose weight or gain muscle, this sport still remains the favorite activity in the world.
Weightlifting is an ancient sport that is still very popular today. The sort is beneficial to both overweight and underweight individuals. Some of us may need to improve our health by reducing our unhealthy weight and replacing it with muscle. Building Strength And Stamina Through Proper Pre-Workout Regimen

Many newbies in bodybuilding do not realize that there are various elements that determine successful results. Most of the time, these newbies are after faster results without proper objectives; thus, making them fail faster as well. But for the diligent and patient bodybuilding newbie, following strict diet and weight training programs can help them achieve their goals.
Among the practical, but very effective, advices you can get from numerous bodybuilding pros is to have a pre-workout regimen. Even before you step into the gym, you should have done your daily pre-workout routine to help awaken your body and prepare it for more hard-pounding training ahead.
It is not enough to have an enormous amount of energy to lift weights because you will lose your stamina in the process. You will need both elements to ensure that all bases are covered in order for you to achieve the physique you are going for.
How Pre-workouts Boost Energy and Build Strength
Going to the gym straight out of bed is a big mistake that many newbies make. Strenuous exercises can cause injuries, muscle spasms, and pain. Pre-workout exercises were developed to specifically help eliminate these problems of bodybuilders and sportsmen alike.
On a practical sense, a pre-workout is not as intense and strenuous as an actual training program. It can be any type of exercise or activity you can do to loosen up tight muscles and prepare your entire body for the next phase. It can be a few minutes of brisk walking or jogging, several laps in your swimming pool, shadow boxing or sparring, dancing to your favorite music, biking, climbing steps, plyometrics, and others.
Notice how breathe and sweat just after several minutes into the activity. You will also notice your pulse raising and your chest pumping faster and harder than normal. You'd want these early in the day before hitting the gym because these can indicate increased energy levels that can help perk up your body for hours.
Sustaining energy is probably the trickier part, so it is important to fuel your body by eating breakfast daily. You can include a glass of protein shake which adds energy and provides the much-needed protein for muscle-building. You should also include fresh fruits and cereal for fiber and vitamins, as well as energy-boosting nuts and cheese.
Your trainer may have already recommended a good pre-workout supplement based on your current training program. Make sure this supplement can help boost your energy and performance, as well as build and repair muscles without any adverse effects. Choose the one with more natural ingredients such as extracts from green tea, citrus, other botanicals.
Among the pre-workout supplements of today that can help you build muscles, sustain energy levels, and perform well in and out of the gym is Jacked supplement. Visit Nutrition Warehouse to know more about this supplement.

Deep Squats - Tips to Help Get to Grass

Experts will tell you the deep squats are of more benefit to muscle development than just going to 90 degrees. Some individuals have a lot of difficulty getting "ass to grass". Here are a few tips to help you get there.
Deep Squats with a Wider Stance
The natural angle of your hips and thigh bone can be an advantage. Too many lifters keep their toes pointed straight ahead when they should be slightly turned out. Keeping your feet just outside hip width (around shoulder width) will also help. The other benefit is that it will force your glutes to take more of the load so the larger muscles being activated will help to lift larger weights with more stability.
Keep Your Heels Up
This will work the opposite of the wide stance squat. Putting your heels on a low platform (a narrow board) will keep your calf muscles shorter and your knees over or just a bit ahead of your toes. Instead of activating your glutes, this will put the emphasis on your quads. This happens because you will tend to stay more upright with your heels elevated in a deep squat.
Flexibility
A general lack of flexibility will really hamper your ability to do a deep squat. Perform a good warm up and take the time to stretch everyday. Make sure to stretch your calves with your toes pointed in, neutral and out to get all three areas of the muscle. Take a full 20 seconds with each stretch.
The other main area to stretch for deep squats is the lower back. Rounding your back when squatting will put you into an uncomfortable position that can lead to injury. There are a number of stretches you can do with great benefits. Loose back muscles will really help to get a deep squat.
Using Chains
Chains give you the ability to add weight at the top of the movement and less weight at the bottom. By doing so, you can help take the pressure off your joints and increase your stability at the difficult lower portion of the movement.
In the end, getting a deep squat as best you can can really boost your muscle development and strength gains. Poor flexibility will hamper your efforts so do not go any further down than is comfortable. Doing so can cause injury. Try these recommendation to improve your form and get your "ass to grass".

Xtend Supplement Is The Best BCAA Power Formula

Complete Bodybuilding Nutrition
It ought to be "complete" when you talk about nutrition for your bodybuilding program. There always had been more hype about creatine, testosterone enhancers and nitric oxide boosters, and the focus has always been to gain more muscles, as in gain "massive amounts" of muscle in a short period of time. Then there's BCAA or branch chain amino acid supplements honestly advertised by manufacturers that go beyond profiteering, but are aware that other than gaining muscle mass, some nutrition are as essential to be buff and tuff- among them BCAA found in a popular product Scivation's Xtend supplement. Scivation's Xtend bodybuilding supplement went out to the market recently, perhaps a couple of years ago. It's true that supplements are necessary to boost muscle mass gain, but it is as important to take nutrition that alleviates muscle soreness and hastens quick recovery after your workouts, too. Xtend supplement provides your muscles with more sustainable energy. Xtend bodybuilding supplement can be used as a complement to your pre and post workout energy drink. Muscle Wear and Tear Recovery
Most products have low dosage of BCAAs. However, in the Xtend formulation, there's 3.5 gms of leucine and 1.8 gms each of valine and isoleucine- a 2:1:1 ratio considered to be most effective. Other ingredients found in Xtend BCAA are citrulline malate and glutamine. Citrulline malate improves performance. Multiple servings might be necessary because there's only 1 gm of the element found in Xtend. Per serving contains 2.5 gms of Glutamine, and it could really be effectual, because only 2 gms of Glutamine increases the natural growth of hormones. Glutamine aids in the fast recovery of muscle break down, thus, it is known to be an extremely valuable addition to Xtend BCAA supplement.
Workouts and Adequate Rest
Take Xtend BCAA bodybuilding supplement before, during and after your workouts- 2 scoops per serving, so that's 6 scoops in all for a day. Some athletes even take the supplement before bedtime, report, testifying that it gave them a more restful and deeper sleep. Nutritionists agree that glutamine in the product provides such benefit. How to Build Muscle Definition - Steps Guaranteed to Get You Cut

Lifting is your passion. You live for the gym because of the benefits, you know you are getting stronger, and the challenge of beating your personal best and the tight pumped up muscles that feel like they are going to burst afterword. Perhaps you really dread cardio and giving your precious lifting time to running, biking or even worse the elliptical, makes you feel as though you are losing that hard earned mass, but you're not. You are actually shredding away those layers of fat to reveal all of your hard work.
If all that you work on is building mass, no one will be able to differentiate biceps from triceps. If you want to look like you are chiseled out of marble you are going to have to do some cardio. Don't worry you have to run ten miles.
You know that cardiovascular exercise is good for your heart, and that healthy heart will bring more blood to your muscles faster so that you can lift more. The more blood that your heart can pump means more oxygen getting delivered to your muscles.
Following are some guidelines that will help you the strong, mighty lifter build some muscle definition that will really show off all the time you have put in pumping iron. You don't need a lot of cardio just some high intensity gut busting intervals that will melt the fat right off of you.
#1: Change it up
Do you keep the same lifting routine all year round? I thought not. Just as you change up your weight lifting you should change up the cardio that you incorporate into your routine.
If you are in a bulking phase, keep the cardio low. No more than once or twice per week for 15-20 minutes. This limited cardio will let your body focus on building muscle, something that takes a lot of energy.
If you are looking to get cut, for competition, beach season or you just want to build muscle definition, you will need to increase your cardio to 3-5 times per week to burn away that extra fat hiding those glorious muscles.
All year round you need to switch up your cardio so that you do not get bored with it. Try running one day, riding the bike the next and then doing a high intensity interval day where you combine different activities.
#2: Don't lift weights and do cardio together
If you are concerned that you cardio training is going to hinder your recovery from strength training, separate them by as much as possible.
If you separate these two workouts your cardiovascular work outs will not impede your increase in strength and size. Just use common sense, don't go for a hard run right after you have your tough leg day. Give yourself some time to recover.
Short on time? If you must do cardio and strength training on the same days at least make sure different body parts are used in your two workouts. If you are rowing for cardio, lift with your legs.
Always make sure you do your lifting before your cardio. You do not want to deplete your glycogen stores in your muscles before you hit the weights.
Everyone needs some cardio in their lives. You will build muscle definition if you make the time to incorporate some intense cardio sessions every week into your routine.

Tips For Gaining Weight and Muscle

It appears that practically everywhere you look, no matter if it is on the internet or in magazines; there will be more than enough articles about how to put on weight and bulk rapidly. The prospect of putting on weight and bulk can appear to be a bit of a long winded task from the off, and this is on the grounds that you are going to have to alter your dietary patterns and in addition, your existing exercise workouts.
Altering your Existing Eating Habits
To begin with, you will need to alter your dietary habits, including what sorts of foodstuffs you consume, as well as when you consume. Assuming that you do not get the balance between sustenance intake and exercise, then you will discover that it takes a lengthy amount of time to realize your weight and muscle target, which you would have set yourself at the beginning. Begin by exchanging those foodstuffs that are high in fat and sugar for ones that are high in protein, for example eggs and red meat (make a point to trim any abundance of fat off). A good liquid intake is vital, although that does not mean that you have to rush out and buy loads of energy drinks, water is just fine on its own. In addition to drinking water, milk is a great alternative, as it contains calcium and protein.
Sleep Better and Work Out
As you will be doing more working out, that means getting a much better night's sleep in order to avoid burnout, a good night's sleep will assist your body with the task of increasing the mass of your muscles, which occurs thanks to the increase in hormone production that takes place when you are in intense REM sleep.
Additionally, you will also be required to alter your workout routine, and one of the easiest ways to do that, is to attempt to do some light workouts prior to breakfast. As well as doing cardio-vascular workouts, don't ignore to do those crucial abdominal exercises as well, but do not overdo your workouts, an hour each day is enough to be going on with. Trying to do too much too soon will only put you at risk of harm, which will only set you back days or possibly weeks in your workout routine, so it is a good idea to keep well within your threshold prior to increasing the quantity of workouts over a period of time. As soon as you get into a schedule you will rapidly start to become aware of the benefits, and even though weight and muscle gain will not occur instantaneously, you will soon start to observe the difference.
When I first started training to gain muscle, I found the Weight Gain Network to be a great resource. However, if you are just looking for a good place to start then look out for a bicep workout for mass building to get you on the right track.

Alpha Dogmacising Our Personal Pack: Strength From Strength

Now think of your personal pack - we all have many facets & dimensions to our being - which create our reactions, behaviors, habits... that hopefully operate symbiotically creating a balanced pack - reflected in our personality that greets the outside world.
Strong is the real sexy - sexy from within - that je ne sais quoi we exude. Our aura emanating is our Maslow self actualized self in high strut mode. Don't misunderstand me - that self doubt, fear, those insecurities serve a crucial aspect to moving and keeping us to the front of our personal pack. They keep us on our paws - there is nothing more obnoxious that a self absorbed, conceited, pompous jerk. Those self questioning emotions keep us striving for self betterment - internally & externally. We keep checking the rear view mirror for power opps, finding ways to keep our strongest, most productive, sharpest self at the front of the pack.
And yes - of course this comes down to... fitness - our measurement of health, physical, psychological & emotional stamina.
I am not a huge fan of "exercise prescription" and all of those campaigns out there treating fitness as another miserable, onerous task in our lives. We must find time, we must, we must... We always find an excuse to procrastinate doing those "musts" we don't want to do. Naysaying arm wrestles positive action. We all know exercise is important for every aspect of our health, but great blood work & disease prevention is not a tangible to motivate everyone, but just about all of us are captivated by life's sensual pleasures.
Rather - I prefer to model fitness & strength as a means of self love & respect - bringing us to the front of our personal pack - a reward that pushes us to new heights of physical, sensual, psychological, emotional & spiritual exhilaration & ecstasy.
Endorphins are released in response to physical & psychological thrills & accomplishments.
I always say being a fitness professional is as popular as being a parent - nobody wants to hear what you have to say...
However, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a fitness professional is infecting people with my very contagious form of muscle mania - strength training.
Whether it be working with those fighting cancer, women who insist muscles are for men (a hot button for me!) introducing people to their true BFF in life - strength - propels me to the front of my personal pack.
Let's do an obscenely, quick review of those beautiful hunks of slow twitch & fast twitch fibers:
Pump our Immune system
Major part of the Metabolic equation
Sugar uptake from the blood into the cells
keep us standing, moving...
Look sooooo good...
So much of our unwanted aging process is from the loss of muscle mass, both aesthetically & from a perspective of developing chronic illness. Neither are genetic doom - much is in our power.
Our health is like technology - we only appreciate it when its not functioning correctly. Unfortunately, we completely take it for granted when everything appears to be working.
Sarcopenia: the fancy medical term for use it or lose it - our muscle mass that is. By our mid 30s are muscle mass gets bored, loses patience with us and takes off if we don't challenge it to greater use. Strength train - and no strength training does not have to be in a gym, and we do not have to become one of those ripped freaks on magazine covers - most have no idea the hours, discipline that goes into that physique - but that is NOT what is required to show appreciation for our muscle mass.
We don't have to gain weight uncontrollably as we age - as our muscle mass sulks away from our metabolic equation - science geekily known as TEA Thermal Effect of Activity ( greater muscle mass greater thermal effect) the body requires less calories (energy) to function. A spiteful revenge from the strength denied body.
Strong is the real sexy - not just a superficial facade created by thousands of dollars haphazardly thrown with prayer (to a belief in marketing jargon) to cosmetics et al. That mystique we exude is our own unique combination of pheromones, beauty, confidence, our balanced inner ecosystem emitting energy & intrigue.
Strength is nurtured by testosterone. Testosterone is a strong force to the front of our personal pack. So ladies & gentlemen, strength train to build testosterone, to lead your own pack.
And gotta say it... all that pumping won't do a thing, if exercise doesn't have its life mate - good nutrition. Exercise & nutrition are the greatest love affair of all time - one just can't live without the other. There is no get out of jail for free card to health & fitness. Its about the love, dedication, pursuit & passion for our strong, sensual self.

What You Should Know About Natural Bodybuilding

By Samuel Gilbert

It seems as if there has always been interest in reshaping the body. The techniques have not always been wise or safe. Natural bodybuilding, on the other hand, can be looked at in a rigid way, or in a more liberal meaning. The stricter definition states that in order to be considered natural, the individual must never have used substances that are not found in a normal daily diet. The ban does not recognize historical limitations. A second group excuses away usage of some of the questionable substances, choosing the stricter route has many benefits that help with weight control and enhanced health.

A common reason to take up body building without using enhancements is to control or lose weight and to have better health overall. You may have a goal of looking good at the beach. When you achieve the desired look, you will feel better emotionally, as well as physically.

Those who have been tempted to use anabolic steroids or similar substances in the past, even for a short period, cannot claim to be natural these substances are harmful to the body and do not result in sustainable results. Substances, which may be debatable, such as corticosteroids and caffeinated products, are generally allowed, even though the purists might not consider them healthy.

There are many advantages to avoiding the use of banned substances in your body-sculpting regimen. You will not be buying or using illegal drugs, and there will be no health risks. Rather, you will be taking steps to improve your health. Certainly, you will not be spending a fortune buying the substances and you will not be lying about drug use. Your self-confidence will bloom, because you know results are from your hard work.

Natural methods are focused on a sound diet, exercise, and weight lifting. Substances such as certain steroids, IGF, growth hormone, testosterone, and insulin should be avoided. This practice means only beneficial products will be in your body.

When you use only beneficial substances, and techniques, you will not have any side effects and there will not be joint injuries. Joints can be damaged by muscle development going at a faster rate than the joints. Naturally paced growth in muscle development is long lasting. When you do the work, you get a sense of satisfaction because you know you are responsible for the positive results.

Determining the best weight for your size and age and figuring out the right proportion of body fat is easy. Getting to the goal is not. You must plan on determination and hard work.

The effects of natural bodybuilding are both positive and avoidance of negative actions and results on your body. Those who are seeking honest and long-lasting health benefits will choose to ingest only the best and most healthful foods. The activities will be selected with a goal of improving overall health as well as appearance. Whether you want to compete or just be sure of a fit physique, natural is better.

The Top Muscle Building Vegetables You Should Be Eating

If you're on a plan to help you build muscle, then you must make sure that you're not skipping over the muscle building vegetables that you should be eating. Far too many skinny guy's entirely cut out vegetables due to the fact that they are lower in calories and when you're trying to take in 4000 plus calories per day, it can be quite the feat to try and fit these all in.
You feel stuffed and thinking about a full plate of broccoli is the last thing you want to be doing! But remember, there are plenty of ways to get around this. First, you don't necessarily need to eat huge amounts of the muscle building vegetables to get good results. As long as you have a one cup serving with a few of the meals out of the day, you will be well on your way to meeting your nutrient needs.
Muscle building vegetables do supply many of the essential nutrients that the body needs to properly generate muscle mass, so you cannot overlook their importance. If you're still struggling to get them in, then also consider blending them up into your sauces as that will eliminate much of the 'bulk' that you experience by eating them. Let's have a look at some of the top muscle building vegetables that you should consider.
Broccoli
If there's one vegetable that can't be beat when it comes to good nutrients, broccoli is it. Broccoli is loaded with antioxidants that will help to fight off disease and is an excellent source of potassium that will keep your muscle contractions going strong.
Whether you want to steam it, stir-fry it, or eat it raw, broccoli is definitely something that should be added to your meal plan.
Asparagus
Second on our list of top muscle building vegetables is asparagus. Asparagus is another one that's very easy to prepare and can be eaten with many different meals. Asparagus is relatively low in calories so don't load up on it as it will fill you up, but having three to four spears of it per meal will work perfectly to help you get those nutrients in.
Cabbage
Third up is cabbage. Cabbage is a powerful muscle building vegetable that's also going to really protect against cancer development, something that we all should be somewhat concerned over. Due to the fact that we are constantly exposed to a number of toxins in our system, if you aren't taking steps to protect yourself from these, you're going to be at risk. Eat red cabbage with your stir-fries or chopped into your salad. You'll hardly notice it in there.
Mushrooms
Finally, the last of the best muscle building vegetables that you should consider are mushrooms. Mushrooms are perfect because they're also low in calories but yet at the same time pack a powerful protein punch.
Since getting enough protein your daily diet will be absolutely essential, this cannot be overlooked. Mushrooms work will with almost any dish - stir-fries, eaten raw, added to salads, or added into a wrap or pita. Make sure you start incorporating them in.
So if you want to see maximum results from your muscle building diet plan, be sure that you don't overlook these muscle building vegetables. It pays to take the time to make sure that you get them in your meals each day.

Muscle Building Secrets - 10 Easy Ways To Build Muscle Fast

Many people are eager to build muscle mass and gain weight. They are usually in a hurry to see results. Maybe that's because they're being bullied by tough guys, or want to impress someone with their body, or want to model their favorite macho guy film star. Whatever the case, the desire for muscle gaining secrets often leads them astray.
Here are 10 simple ways you can build muscle mass rapidly and safely, without resorting to dangerous pills, drugs or supplements.
1. Work hard for the first year. You're just getting started and need to learn the lifts, exercises and techniques. You also cannot afford to hurt yourself and take prolonged breaks to recover from injury. So exercising regularly and more frequently is better for newbies. More is better than less. And exercise your entire body.
2. Split up your training after the first year. You may prefer to build upper body muscles, or lower body, or abdominal muscles. Depending on your choice, you may split your training. It ultimately depends upon how strong you have grown by then. If you can lift heavier weights more comfortably, then you could hasten the exercise routine.
3. Do more push ups and chin ups. Upper body muscle mass building exercises are diverse and varied. But chin ups, dips and push ups are the very best and most effective. No other variations are likely to replace them soon. Weighing yourself down to add resistance against which your muscles grow will even speed up the process.
4. Limit yourself to 4 workouts every week. Just that exercise carried out regularly will be enough to produce remarkable changes in your physique. But these workouts should be complete. Standing presses, deads, squats and bent over rows are a part of your program. If you over do it, you may get injured and need rest breaks.
5. Space out your workouts sensibly. Giving yourself a short interval between the days you work out can help damaged muscles recover energy. Training on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday may be a good routine. But tailor whatever you do to your overall lifestyle so that you will be able to consistently follow your exercise routine.
6. Lift heavier weights. Getting strong happens by lifting heavier weights. Load up your weight bars. Add weight gradually over time. You can't help build up your muscles that way. Be sure that you consume enough proteins and calories as you stimulate muscles to grow. This is one of the best muscle gaining secrets that are hidden under plain sight.
7. You should not go heavy on certain exercises like split squats, neck exercises and external rotations. If an exercise places you in an unfavorable position for your joint, take care because an injury can be particularly painful and damaging. Do not go heavy on those. Reserve the weights for the more steady squats, presses and dead lifts.
8. Mix up your weight training with soft workouts. Tissue quality improves when you make use of the foam roller also. Self massage methods that use balls or even having one by a professional masseuse can help keep your muscles supple yet strong. It could be strange if you bulge everywhere with muscle, but as a result of it you appear clumsy and like an oaf as you stumble around thanks to the stiff bulk.
9. Do the appropriate number of reps. What is appropriate? That's hard to tell. It depends a lot on the individual. But 25 to 50 reps per body part is a fair estimate for many, and repeating it 2 or 3 times every week will definitely help you gain muscle. More than that is not harmful, but not particularly helpful either. The key to muscle gaining in a rapid fashion is to optimize your workouts in a way that you get the most benefit from the minimum effort.
10. Workout in sets of exercises. Not all routines are the same. Some exercises require that you carry out 25 reps at once, and in these cases, 5 sets of 5 reps each will not have the same effect. The heavier the weights you use, the more likely it is that your sets will be smaller. That way you'll build real muscle quicker, because your fast twitch muscles are activated sooner with heavy loads.
So there you are - 10 easy ways to build muscle fast. You'll start seeing results in as early as 6 weeks. But for the best, most lasting effect, you must stick with your workout routines for at least a year.
A nice program to guide you through the steps of muscle building is Jason Ferruggia's "Muscle Gaining Secrets 2.0". But does it really work? Read this Muscle Gaining Secrets review and see what folks have to say about it at http://MuscleGainingSecretsReviews.com

Not only will bent over barbell rows target your upper back, they'll also work your lats, traps, lower back and hamstrings. A further advantage of the bent over barbell row is that it requires little in terms of equipment, keeping you away from those pesky machines. Ensure that the weight you use is heavy enough to fully stimulate your muscles, but also allows for correct form and full range of motion.
#3 T-Bar Rows
Continuing with our theme of exercises requiring little in terms of equipment, we present the T-Bar row. Commonly found within the routine of old school bodybuilders, this lift is both functional and effective. The T-Bar row should be included within your training program to add thickness to your lats, whilst also adding mass to your upper back, traps, rhomboids and deltoids. As with all free weight exercises, ensure that the weight you add to the bar is heavy enough to stimulate your back without limiting your range of movement.
#4 Single Arm Dumbbell Rows
The single arm dumbbell row is a great addition to any program, providing stimulation to the middle and upper back, whilst also targeting the lats, shoulders, traps and biceps. Unlike the barbell row, the single arm dumbbell row allows for isolation of each side of the back, which is useful as back training covers such a large area of muscle. To really get the most out of single arm dumbbell rows, remember to focus on pulling the weight with your back muscles, not the biceps.
#5 Pull Ups and Chin Ups
For the most part, we believe that the most useful back exercises involve free weights. When choosing our top five back exercises, however, it was an easy decision to include pull ups and chin ups. Both of these exercises are highly effective within back training programs, and again require very little equipment. Beginners should first attempt to perform chin ups, with the palms facing towards the body, as they utilize more of the bicep than the pull up, making the exercise a little easier to perform. Once the chin up and pull up have been mastered, resistance can also be added in the form of a weight belt to increase the difficulty of the exercise.

Three Muscle Building Exercises for the Legs

After training clients in my gym for over 15 years I have developed a set of leg exercises that deliver results fast. When I say results I'm talking about gains in size but also similar gains in strength. Having trained semi -professional athletes and also working in the area of injury rehabilitation I've been exposed to a wide variety of different exercise styles and practices.
The one exercise I use all of the time in its many forms is the good old squat. I particularly like the heel raised full squat because of the range of motion it creates but also because it loads the Vastus Medialis Obliqus (VMO) portion of the quadriceps muscle which is vitally important for knee stability and strength and power development.
I set this squat technique up so that the client stands on a 4 inch step block with their heels on the block and their toes on the ground. Their feet are placed at hip width apart and the movement is initiated from the knees. Any load is placed in front of the body, whether it is a medicine ball or barbell. I instruct the client to keep their torso upright as they squat down to the floor and keep going until their hamstrings are in contact with their calves before returning to the start position. Usually 8-12 reps of this movement creates a very good overload and the client performs 3 sets.
I have used standing Good Morning exercises for a number of years and like how it effectively conditions the whole of the posterior chain of muscles including the low back, glutes and hamstrings. Most people are very weak through these muscles as they rarely train them but as I discovered during my time working with athletes, sound conditioning of these muscles is required for effective force generation and speed development. I set this exercise up with the barbell across the shoulder blades. I then instruct the client to bend forward from the hips keeping a flat back and braced abdominals. I get them to bend forward until they feel a good stretch on their hamstrings and then return to the start position by using their hamstring and gluteal muscles to drive the hips forward.
The third exercise I like to use to develop strength and power in the legs is the step up. This functional exercise works the quadriceps at the front of the leg along with the powerful hip extensors at the back of the leg namely the glutes and hamstrings. The key set up point with this exercise is to make sure the step block is high enough. Ideally when you place your foot on the block your thigh should be parallel to the ground. Another great tip is to encourage the client to press through their heel as they step up onto the block. This will encourage good gluteal recruitment during the exercise.
I hope you've enjoyed learning about three of my favourite leg conditioning exercises and I hope you get the chance to go and use them in the gym.

The Beginners Guide to Building Muscle

The thought of starting a new workout routine can be scary, especially when you start hitting the gym. Going to the gym can be extremely hard for someone new to working out. The equipment is new, you have to workout in front of other people, and most of all you are not sure which exercises you should be doing to get the maximum results that you are looking for. It is no wonder so many people who are new to workouts stop going to the gym after only a month or two.
Luckily for you, if you are new to working out there are a few steps that will start your path to building real muscle. When you follow these simple steps you will not only be able to see quick results, but you will find yourself feeling more confident, more healthy, and more excited about building muscle.
First, Set Your Schedule
Have you ever heard the phrase, "We are creatures of habit"? Well, it is true. Our bodies are designed to protect us, they are designed to make sure that we can do whatever we need to do when we need to do it.
Because of this, our bodies like to have a schedule in place. When you have a routine, your body gets used to that routine and it prepares you physically and mentally for that routine. This is why you find yourself getting up on the weekends at the same time that you would get up for work and why you seem to get hungry at the same times every day.
Working out is no different. Once you have developed specific workout times, and stuck to them for about a month, you will start to notice that your body automatically craves working out at that schedule.
Your workout routines will need to keep changing in order to keep building muscle, but you will have the desire to workout at the same times every week.
So your first step is to pick three to five days out of the week and designate these as your official 'workout days'.
Always Stretch First
When you are hitting the gym after a long day of work, it is very tempting to just rush through your workout, doing only the things that you need to do so that you can finally get home and be done with your day.
But as tempting as it is to just hit the gym and start your workout, you need to take the time to stretch out your muscles first.
Just giving yourself five minutes of good stretching will allow your muscles to get through a longer workout without feeling tired or drained. You should also stretch after your workout to be sure that you don't wake up with sore muscles the next day.
Start with 6 to 15 Reps each of 2 to 4 Exercises
Now that you know your workout schedule and the importance of stretching, it is time to figure out how you are going to be working out. You want to start by picking two to four exercises that will work one area of your body, (either the upper body or the lower body).
For instance, if you wanted to workout the upper body you could do bench presses, the row machine, and bicep curls. While working out the lower body can include lunges and squats.
If you are working out at a gym, maybe you could see if they have a 'free session' with a trainer. Even if you don't choose to keep the trainer, you can still get an idea of what your exercise routine should be.
Once you have your exercises picked out, you should do 6 to 15 reps of each. You should also be sure that you do the same amount of reps on each side. For instance if you do 15 bicep curls on the left arm you need to do 15 bicep curls on the right arm.
The thought of picking a new exercise routine can be a little intimidating, especially if you are new to working out. But if you follow these simple steps you will start seeing results in no time.

3 Tips To Maximize Your Exercise's Potential

It is never enough to just do a movement and expect results. The movements must be done correctly. I am going to share 3 tips that will make every exercise more effective and help you maximize its potential.
Elbows
In almost every upper body movement, your elbows will dictate whether that movement will be effective or not. When you get sloppy or begin to cheat, your elbows will drift either inward or outward depending on the movement. For pressing movements, elbows tend to drift inward. During curling exercises, the elbow will drift outward.
Not allowing the elbows to drift will keep the tension on the muscles being worked. During bench presses, you must keep your elbows slightly behind the bar. This slight position keeps all the effort on the pec muscles and maximizes stretch at the bottom. Those who cheat will allow the elbows to move in front of the bar. This will bring more shoulder and triceps action into play. You also have less control requiring even more body english to complete the movement.
The more you control your elbows, the more effective an exercise will be. It is just that simple.
Grip
The harder you grip a bar, the more poundage you will be able to move. It's amazing what a strong grip will do for you. Obviously, gripping hard will be great work for your forearms. But more than that, gripping hard focuses your efforts and "magically" makes you stronger. Of course, there is nothing magical about it.
Next time at the gym or where ever you work out, you should make a conscious effort to really, really grip hard during every exercise. Grip hard when you are squatting. Just because the bar is sitting behind your shoulders is no reason to just use your hands to keep it from sliding down. Grip that bar hard and feel the energy; you will be able to crank out 2 or 3 more repetitions.
Tense Your Body
As you exercise, tense your whole body. In particular, tense and flex your legs as you exercise. Whether you doing a prone bench press, bent-over rows, or standing curls; you should tense your torso and envision your legs as pillars of strength that you can call on for added help. Before you start curling, tense and flex your legs.
There is a synergy that comes from tensing your whole body. And you are less prone to injury when you activate all the muscles in your body instead allowing some to be just passive. When you squat, your entire body is flexed. It needs to be. Deep in the well of a heavy squat, your body is in a fight mode to get up. Having the whole body flexed keeps you from injuring yourself, among other things. You should be in the same mode when curling or pressing.
These 3 tips will help you crank out one more repetition. And that is the key. One more repetition may be what you need to break through the plateau or help you get to the next level.
As you exercise smarter, understand the difference between muscle building, building strength, getting hard and leaner. It not just about getting big, it's about making a visual impact; and it's about looking great and that means you should look at Visual Impact Muscle Building.

Heavy Drinking Affects Muscle Building

Now before you start thinking " Thanks Captain Obvious , " I want you to realize how many people do not understand the consequences of alcohol consumption during training. Theres been a television campaign in Australia for many years about the consequences of drinking and driving. The motto was " If you drink and drive you 're a jerk . " I like to put my own spin on this. " If you drink and train , you're an asshole . "
This may seem a bit difficult for you, but this is not the case. If you are serious about building muscle and fitness , then drinking is the last thing you want to do . If you are only training half , so it is fine. Train and go drink until you can not resist . I have no problem with that.

What did I have a problem with people is half ass outdoor training and then complain that "does not work " . If you drink, know that it will adversely affect your muscle . Just accept it .

Now , why is it taking so long? Let's get started ....

The first reason is that the screws around drinking with your hormones . Having more than one pair of glasses actually decreases your testosterone level . Testosterone is the hormone that makes men men and is responsible for allowing us men to build more muscle mass. I'm sure you realize how powerful steroids are . Well , steroids are basically testosterone , so you can see that this is not something you want less.

Alcohol also increases estrogen levels in your body. This is the female hormone . Have you ever noticed that heavy drinkers often have man boobs ? It is no coincidence since estrogen is the hormone that gives women 's breasts first. Think about it, what you really want to be known as the man with man boobs ?

Not only will drinking wreak havoc on your hormones , but also make you fat. You see , one gram of alcohol has 7 calories . This is almost double the calories in a gram of carbohydrate or protein (fat = 9 ) . So if you spend your weekends in the pub , knocking back 10 or 15 beers , take out the calculator and do the math . If you do not want to do this , all you have to do is look at this big beer belly of yours. It does not take Einstein to understand that drinking large amounts of alcohol increase.

So in conclusion , I do not want to be seen as "anti - alcohol" I just want you to understand the consequences and make decisions accordingly. After all it is your body.

Hyperplasia for Muscle Building

When hyperplasia is commonly known , you get all kinds of answers. Some people say it is possible , others say it is not so and some people just sit there with a silly expression on his face. Then it's time to clear things up once and for all .

If you read all the information on how to build muscles , chances are you've read about the making of hypertrophy . All this means that you have your larger muscle fibers . Well hyperplasia is not the size of muscle fibers , but the number of muscle fibers.

You see, everyone is born with a number of muscle fibers. As we grow , grow well. Now , traditional science says that more muscle fibers is not possible, but there are people who disagree .

They suggest that , as muscles grow in response to stress ( hypertrophy) , placing enough emphasis on muscle ever grow new muscle fibers (hyperplasia ) .

Scientific studies have been conducted that demonstrate that hyperplasia occurs in animals. An experience that I have heard has been done in birds. The scientist hanging weights on the wings of birds for some time . Once the birds have been put out of his misery , his muscles were examined and were found to have more muscle fibers .

While it is easy for animal testing to discover the truth about hyperplasia of muscle building , is a different story when it comes to human beings . Can you imagine what would happen if scientists people hanging weight arm for long periods of time? I certainly would not put my hand to it!

And even if they could, they could not very well put a person to dissect the body thereafter , could they ? So that leaves us guessing whether hyperplasia of muscle building actually exists in humans.

Some people have also suggested that once the muscle fibers become too large , divide and create more muscle fibers and fat cells of your body. However, there is no evidence to suggest that this happens . Another problem with this theory is that most people never get to this point without chemical assistance , ie steroids.

So when it comes to hyperplasia of muscle building is actually left to yourselves. Whether or not it exists , it is still hard to say. But what we do know suggests that it probably is responsible for muscle growth as much as some think , not that much to worry about . Whichever side of the fence you sit on does not matter, the principles of building muscle or muscle building are essentially the same . If you need a guide on how to make it more effective , I recommend either through this website or pick up a copy of Sean Nalewanyjs bestseller .

Best Way to Build Bicep Muscles

With the pectorals , biceps muscles is one of the most desirable . He also coached incorrectly by more people than any other muscle . So the purpose of this article is to show the right way to go about building your biceps.
The first thing to understand is that this is a relatively small part of the muscle. While every guy wants to show her big "guns" , you should not train as much as the large muscle groups like legs or chest.

Unlike most of the rest of his life, the training also actually brought him back and slow your progress. This is because you put your body under stress and will not be able to cope . To build the best biceps of your life , you need to train enough that even if they are stressed , they are not too hard his biceps .

So what is the limit ? It's simple (again ) . I often see young guys in the gym who regularly spend their entire training session on his biceps . They spend 30-40 minutes after start running game after game bicep curls , hoping that this effort will result in the biceps muscle monster.

Well, that's what I call , crossing the line . It's great to train your biceps hard, but training every day , spend their entire biceps training is not easy.

What I like to do is include some exercises in my workouts biceps 1 day of the week . So , I build the biggest biceps in my life , training , once a week and do not run anywhere near the amount of games that most guys in the gym .

You're probably wondering what I do on this day . Am new results manuever magic? Not at all . I'll stick with simple movements , basic . You have probably tried to build your biceps with them before, and they are the best and most common exercises to strengthen the biceps. The difference is how it went .

My favorite exercise for biceps is the bicep curl . You can use weights, a loop Ezy bar , bar , alternate, whatever, this is a very good exercise , which has provided not over do it . Another exercise that I like to create my biceps is the pull-up . You may not realize how much this is for biceps, but you have to make some really tough games and you'll know exactly why I love this exercise.

So now you know my "secret" to having the best biceps in the gym. All you need to do now is to actually go to the gym and apply what you've learned and you're on your way.
