Counting calories is not necessary, but it will give you better results if you do. If you don't have the time or patience to count calories, then just get a rough idea of how many calories you are consuming each day. If some fat gain occurs then you know that you need to cut back a bit and vice versa if you don't see the weight on the scale increasing. Consider counting your calories like having a gps system in your car. You will know exactly where you are heading. There are some websites online and even apps that can tell you how many calories are in the food that you are eating. Remember that it is important to be in a caloric surplus and that counting calories will help take all of the guesswork out of eating.
